Target just released a mini shopping cart for kids

Buyers beware: Now your child can be your mini-me in every way, including stealing your entire Saturday morning Target look. Everyone’s favorite place to accidentally buy pillows when you’ve just run off to get toothpaste now has some seriously cute toy caddies for kids – and they look exactly like the real thing.

Priced at $19.99, the carts are about 18 inches tall and are aimed at kids ages 3 and up. Made by Perfectly Cute, they come with 12 groceries – like milk, pasta, fruit, and ice cream sandwiches – plus a coffee mug, pouch, and coffee holder for a fun experience. Totally authentic target. The dolly also has a seat that fits any 18-inch doll (which will likely throw a tantrum in the toy aisle – just a guess).

Scary Mommy may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article.

And there is some more good news. No assembly is required (every parent’s three favorite words) and it’s easy to clean. Will you trip over it in the middle of the night when your child leaves it in the hallway? Yes, probably. But it’s a small price to pay for the simulation game you’ll get out of it.

It’s better than when Target turned its shopping carts into Mario Carts.

It is also way better than 2016 when Target launched tiny Target carts for kids to use in a number of stores and quickly realized that was a huge mistake.

Target

To compare it to the significantly more expensive but still popular Melissa & Doug basket: this one is plastic, not metal, but comparable in size. This one comes with food included — and sells for over $50 less. And of course, while there’s certainly nothing wrong with the Melissa & Doug version, it lacks that look and branding that kids associate with the most magical box store ever.

The cart is currently sold out and a bit hard to find, but when it’s back in stock, you’ll have the option to put a Target cart in your Target cart. Just be careful not to spill your coffee.
