Shopping center under construction | New

Malcom Bridge Village, a recently opened shopping center across from elementary and middle schools, will provide community services to the neighborhoods of Harperfield, Triple Creek, Avalon, Fern Hill and others.

Developer Rodney Jones, who has overseen the construction of housing in the Meridian and Fern Hill subdivisions, said the mall will have a drugstore, shops and local restaurants.

The pharmacy will have a seated lunch counter. Tenants will likely include a coffee shop, sandwich shop, fitness center, clothing stores, and a physiotherapy group. There will be no fast food. The first phase of the project will be 45,000 square feet and the total development will be 75,000 square feet.

“The restaurants we’re talking to are established names that people will recognize,” said Bogart resident Hank Randolph of WHR Real Estate Co. and J. Swanton Ivy Realty.

Jones: “I want good quality tenants who are going to serve the people who are here,” Jones said. “WE try to serve the people who already live here.”

There will be sidewalks around the entire mall with multiple crosswalks and multiple entrances from Lenru Road.
