Others announced results on Tuesday, including Aquis Exchange, Burford Capital, EKF, Ergomed, Genedrive, Flowtech, Good Energy, Personal Group, S&U and XLMedia.
Rising prices will top the list as new grocery store numbers come out on Tuesday, along with various other quicksand for the supermarket sector as the effects of the pandemic continue to work their way through the system.
Figures from last month showed how shopping habits are changing back to pre-pandemic patternsstore traffic increasing and less bulk buying, but online orders nearly double the proportion of 2019.
Compression in the cost of living for households has also manifested itself, with supermarket price inflation at 3.8%.
Prices and costs will also be a key element when AG Barr PLC (LSE:BAG) unscrews the cap on its annual results, which should otherwise show evidence of a strong performance for the year to the end of January.
The maker of drinks such as Irn-Bru and Rubicon has previously told investors revenue is expected to be around £267m, up 17.5% on the previous year and will also top its performance before the pandemic.
Profit before tax and exceptionals is also expected to be slightly above the previous forecast of £41m.
Attention will be on the effect of inflation on operating profit margins in the new fiscal year, which is expected to be 15.6% for the latest fiscal year, with Barr likely to see prices for packaging and energy-related raw materials increase.
“Efforts to offset inflation could come in a variety of ways, including further price increases,” said Hargreaves Lansdown analyst Sophie Lund-Yates.
“Well-known brands give AG Barr the firepower to do that to some degree, but its products don’t exactly fall into ‘premium’ territory, so pricing power may be limited. That puts the volume burden, as well as incremental costs, which could be a concern if they come at the expense of marketing budgets.
Elsewhere, inflation is also a hot topic in the homebuilding industry, with siding being another topic that hasn’t gone away. to remove the coating from the properties they have built over the past three decades.
Bellway PLC (LSE:BWY) was one of those cited, but don’t expect that to feature too prominently in the builder’s interim statement on Tuesday, but what should be clear is the amount of money it is currently generating.
UBS expects revenue of £1.78 billion and an operating profit of £338 million or a margin of 19%.
Rising costs, staffing issues, housing demand (now interest rates are rising) and of course siding removal are things to watch in Bellway’s outlook statement.
