Police seek help in mall homicide investigation

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police are asking for help in a homicide investigation.

The Montgomery County regional dispatcher reported that officers responded to a shooting at the Cornell Mall on North Gettysburg Avenue around 3:20 a.m. Upon arrival, they found one person with a gunshot wound.

According to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, the coroner was called to the scene of a shopping mall early Sunday morning. Reinaldo Gomez Taylor, 33, of Dayton has been identified as the victim who has since died.

Police said about 342 cars were in the parking lot at the time of the shooting. There were also several people in the parking lot who witnessed the incident. Police have asked anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. A cash reward will be given and tips can remain anonymous.
