With the Scorpio N, Mahindra has introduced a new “Add to Cart” feature on its website and revealed its detailed booking process for the SUV. Pricing for the automatic and 4WD variants of the SUV will be announced on July 21. However, the “Add to cart” function is open to all variants. Reservations will begin online and at dealerships on a first-come, first-served basis beginning July 30.
Prospective buyers must first choose the desired variant and color and select “Add to Cart” on the Mahindra website. The feature allows buyers to select the Scorpio N variant and color as well as their preferred dealership.
It should be noted that using the “Add to Cart” function does not affect reservations or the allocation of vehicles, which is an entirely different process. This is only done to let Mahindra know which variants are popular. Veejay Nakra, president of automotive division of Mahindra & Mahindra, told Autocar India. “We will be able to plan production and inventory accordingly, so that there is no overstocking either with us or with dealers,” he said.
The next step in the process is test drives, which opened in 30 select cities starting July 5 and will be available in other cities by July 15.
Mahindra will allow a “Variant Edit Window” between July 30 and August 15 for buyers to edit their preferred variant or color and lock in their final choice. Once the vehicle is reserved, Mahindra says it will notify buyers of the delivery date. Deliveries of the Scorpio N are expected to begin during the holiday season.
Scorpio N prices start from ₹11.99 lakh for the base petrol manual, going all the way up to ₹19.49 lakh for the premium diesel manual. These prices are only introductory, for the first 25,000 bookings, after which prices will increase.
