NJ mall will welcome 3 new tenants, including a drive-thru Starbucks

A shopping center in Ocean County will get three new stores following planning board approval.

Manchester Township Planning Council recently approved a plan for a new retail building at the Whiting Commons shopping centre, according to The Asbury Park Press.

The new 8,951 square foot building is expected to house Starbucks, Jersey Mike’s Subs and an AT&T store.

The new Starbucks spot will include drive-thru and an outdoor seating area.

Construction plans and business opening times have yet to be announced.

Whiting Commons, located at 400 Lacey Rd., is already home to businesses such as Stop & Shop, CVS, Wawa and Wendy’s.

The building’s remaining vacant space will attract sit-down restaurants, as the township recently made four liquor licenses available.

“The locals there have been begging for something like this,” Manchester Mayor Robert Hudak said. “They want more variety. This will add to the mix of restaurants that are there.
