Get ready: Christmas shopping list

It can get a bit overwhelming this time of year, gifts, decorations, food, drinks and the biggest party we’ve got in 365 days!

But don’t panic, we’re here to help. Think of Christmas dinner as a big Sunday roast and try to prepare as much as possible ahead of time.

First things first – shopping list.

If you haven’t ordered your turkey/ ham/ meats you must do it now or buy frozen.

Remember you don’t need to buy food carts – shops all reopen on December 26!

But there are a few things you should probably check off your list:

Sides:

  • Potatoes
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Bacon (for the sprouts)
  • Bread/breadcrumbs
  • Sausage
  • Fresh sage
  • Onions
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Parsnips/carrots

Starters:

  • Smoked salmon
  • Charcuterie meats (prosciutto, Parma ham, chorizo, etc.)
  • salad
  • Shrimp
  • Cheese (try at least one hard and one soft cheese)
  • Chutne
  • Fruit
  • Crackers

Dessert:

Cuppard from the store:

  • Salt pepper

  • The vinegar
  • Eggs
  • Spices: nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon
  • Herbs: rosemary, parsley, bay leaf, mint
  • Bread
  • Butter/olive oil
  • Vinaigrette
  • Garli
  • Mayonnaise
  • Flour
  • Suga
  • Vanilla flavoring
  • Baking soda
  • Jam/marmalade
  • Goose grease

Drinks :

  • Whatever your favorite drink
  • Red and white wine
  • Whiskey
  • Brandy
  • Blenders/ tonics/ soft drinks
  • Tea/coffee/hot chocolate

Treats:

  • A box of your favorite cookies
  • A box of your favorite chocolates
  • Chips
