Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is reportedly at the top of Manchester City’s list of summer buys, with the Premier League outfit keen to strengthen this summer.
The last update comes from The temperature who think City want to splash out again and bring in three players in a bid to finally clinch the Champions League.
City will lose Fernandinho at the end of the season which means they are keen to land a midfielder and De Jong appears to be the favourite.
The report notes Barca’s huge debts and believes the Catalan giants ‘would be ready to sell’ De Jong if they received an offer of ‘around £60m’.
City are also thinking of West Ham’s Declan Rice, who apparently has a price tag of £150million, another arguably reason why De Jong tops the list.
Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is another player City are hoping to sign and they will also bring in Julián Álvarez from River Plate.
There’s already been a lot of talk about De Jong this season and it seems unlikely that those rumors will go away anytime soon.
Both the club and the Dutchman have made it clear that he is happy at Camp Nou but Barca’s tight financial situation leaves the club vulnerable to big offers for key players.
